Beef Meat

Product information

The product included in this EPD is one kilogram of fresh, packaged boneless beef meat, Angus breed, from cradle to farmgate. The bovines (steer or heifer) are weaned and fattened in full cycle forest-pasture grazing systems in North-Eastern Entre Ríos, Argentina, and they are sold when they reach the optimal physiological state, at the age of 20 months. The environmental impacts were calculated taking into account the partial production chain starting from the animal’s birth until the finished live animal at the farmgate (Upstream), as specified on reference PCR Meat of mammals version 4.0.1. The biophysical allocation criterion was used, assuming a yield of 2.71 kg of animal live weight for each kilogram of boneless packaged meat, and an allocation percentage of 94.07% for meat, with respect to the byproducts.
