Product information

Barilla's tomato sauces are produced in an owned plant located in Rubbiano (Italy). Here the cooking process closely resembles that of traditional Italian home cooking techniques.

The process begins by sautéing vegetables in oil, tomato pulp is then poured over the browned vegetables and herbs are added at the end. After cooking, the Basilico sauce is heat treated to pasteurize the product and ensure that flavour and taste are perfectly preserved. Once pasteurized the sauce is sealed in quality 200 and 400 gram jars, avoiding the need for preservatives.

The product is then sold in Italy or exported.
