Hot Dip Coated Seel with Galvalume® coating
This EPD covers multiple Galvalume® (Al‑Zn‑Si) coated steel products. The declared results are based on one representative product configuration with a thickness of 0.425 mm and a metallic coating mass of 150 g/m² (total both sides). The full product family supplied at Vega spans a thickness range of 0.30–1.50 mm and metallic coating levels up to 150 g/m² total (both sides), produced in various widths and steel grades. The representative product was selected based on sales‑share dominance, ensuring that it reflects the most commercially relevant and highest‑volume configuration in the Galvalume® portfolio.
The Galvalume® coating consists of approximately 55 % aluminium, 43.4 % zinc, and 1.6 % silicon.
These products offer excellent corrosion resistance and good formability, suitable for exposed and non‑exposed parts in multiple sectors.
The standards concerning Galvalume® coated steel coils can be used by manufacturers for various components in:
• Commercial Quality Steel: NBR 7008-2; JIS G3131
• Structural Quality Steel: NBR 7008-3; ASTM A653; EN 10346
• Steel for Forming and Drawing: EN 10111; JIS G3131; NBR 5906
• Steel for Tubes and Profiles: EN 10346; JIS G3132
• Galvalume® Coating: NBR 15578; ASTM A792
For placing on the market in the European Union/European Free Trade Association (EU/EFTA), Regulation (EU) No. 305/2011 (CPR) applies when the product falls under harmonized standards such as EN 10346 for continuously hot dip coated steel flat products. Products outside these standards do not require CE marking.
The coating process can apply zinc layers up to 150 g/m² (total both sides). A post‑treatment (passivation, thin organic coating, and/or oiling) may be applied to the product but is not included in the EPD results. For the application and use, the respective national provisions apply. Mechanical properties vary according to steel grade.
