This PCR is currently being developed.
The development of this PCR was initiated 2025-06-09. The open consultation, planned to start in Q3 2025, will start with an e-mail invitation to identified stakeholders. Any stakeholder is welcome to provide comments on the draft PCR.
The publication is expected in Q1 2026. Dates are preliminary and subject to change.

This document will provide complementary Product Category Rules (c-PCR) for the main PCR 2024:06 of Electronic and electric equipment, and electronic components (non-construction) (EN 50693) for the assessment of the environmental performance of clothes or linen washing machines and the declaration of this performance by an EPD.
This product category encompasses electric or non-electric washing machines for use on clothes or linen. These electrical appliances may also have a drying function. The product category corresponds to a subset of UN CPC 44812 Dishwashing machines and clothes or linen washing or drying machines, household type, electric or non-electric.This subclass is defined through the following headings/subheadings of the HS 2022 (WCO Harmonized System Nomenclature):
84.50：Household or laundry room washing machines, including washing and drying combined machines.
8450.11：Fully automatic washing machine (with a drying capacity not exceeding 10kg).
8450.12：washing machine equipped with a centrifugal spin-dryer(with a drying capacity not exceeding 10kg).
8450.19：Washing machines without centrifugal spin-drying function (with a drying capacity not exceeding 10kg).
8450.20：Washing machines with a drying capacity exceeding 10 kilograms.
