PCR description
Version 2.0.0 of this PCR is currently on open consultation from 2025-10-09 until 2025-12-05. The draft PCR is availablefor download below. Any stakeholder is welcome to provide comments on the draft PCR, using the template available for download below. Comments shall be sent to the PCR Moderator.
An updating process was initiated 2022-11-22 to align the PCR with version 4 of the GPI and to prolong the validity period. Due to a delay, the PCR will be updated again to comply with version 5.0.0 of the GPI. The publication date is planned for Q1 2026.
Due to a delay in the updating proces, the validity period of this PCR was extended for a second time until 2024-06-27.
With this update, the intention is to expand the scope to include also non-structural application. Furthermore, note that the scope includes both synthetic and natural polymers.
All dates are preliminary and subject to change.

This document provides Product Category Rules (PCR) for the assessment of the environmental performance and the declaration of this performance by an EPD of boards, blocks, panels, sheets of plastics, or in composite system, for structural application made by light material and lightened material through every process that leads to a cellular structure. The product covered by this PCR are core materials of plastic or formulated with polymeric binder (e.g. balsa core materials). The core materials are used in composite systems or they are used as such. Please see the PCR document for further details.
