Galvanized Steel Profiles (EAF ROUTED)
This EPD is an average EPD representative for the manufacturer's galvanized steel profiles. There are seven different products under this category, namely: W beam, HEA/HEB beam, IPE beam, NPI beam, UPN beam, Equal angle and Square bar as shown in the figures below.
Main input material for these products is steel billet along with the zinc and small quantity of acid used for the galvanizing process. In addition, manufacturing related processes are very similar between the investigated products. Thus, they are grouped under a single EPD. Steel billets used in the manufacturing of the investigated products are produced 100% through Electric Arc Furnace (EAF) route.
Galvanized steel profiles are especially used in the construction of solar energy systems and steel construction buildings, but also in reinforced concrete structures for the purpose of supporting the structure.
