The EPD® concerns the environmental impacts related to the life cycle of cardboard boxes intended for companies in the pharmaceutical sector. This EPD® covers a number of 949 pharmaceutical packagings.

The cardboard boxes are made with the same type of GC2 Folding Box Board (FFB) paper but differ in shape, size and weight. The main raw material is GC2 coated cardboard. The GC2 coated cardboard is composed of three layers of fibers, two of which are made of pure bleached cellulose and one, the central one, of pressurized mechanical pulp.

The pharmaceuthical cardboard boxes included in the EPD are produced by GRAFICHE FAVILLINI Srl, located in Livorno (Italy), one of the top players in the pharmaceutical packaging branch in Italy.
