AC asphalt mixtures are continuous granulometry mixtures with void contents and maximum aggregate sizes, generally between 16 and 32 mm; The percentages of voids in the mixture are between 3 and 8% and have a minimum binder content of 4%. This type of mixture is used in both base, intermediate or surface courses.
