Rail expansion joints

A rail expansion joit is a structure that allows the rails to move longitudinally as a bridge moves due to temperature changes and traffic load, which in turn prevents deformation and breakage of the rail. Depending on the bridge’s movement span, different rail expansion joints are installed for the appropriate application.
