Average Post Top Luminaire

A post top luminaire is a type of outdoor lighting fixture that is mounted on top of a pole or post. These luminaires are commonly used for pedestrian street lighting, park lighting, and other public spaces to provide illumination and enhance safety and aesthetics. In this case the post was not included in the analysis as this is a variable element selected by designers for material and height appropriate to the specific project. The luminaire is made of a structure (commonly referred to as “housing” or body of the luminaire), control gear (includes equipment that determines power and light output levels, including what is commonly referred to as the “driver”) and light source (being the light emitting diode and electronics mounted as Chip on Board (COB) whether integrated or not, meaning removable or permanently attached to the housing). The lighting products are classified by the following CSI MasterFormat code: 26 56 00 Exterior Lighting.
