Average Cylinder Luminaire
A cylinder luminaire is a type of lighting fixture with a form factor of a classic cylindrical profile. They are often specified to produce uniform, wide-angled illumination or sharp, high-contrast lighting. They are commonly used in a variety of settings and either suspended as a pendant or surface mounted. Many cylinder luminaires are designed for both indoor and outdoor use. The luminaire is made of a structure (commonly referred to as “housing” or body of the luminaire), control gear (includes equipment that determines power and light output levels, including what is commonly referred to as the “driver”) and light source (being the light emitting diode and electronics mounted as Chip on Board (COB) whether integrated or not, meaning removable or permanently attached to the housing). The lighting products are classified by the following CSI MasterFormat code: 26 51 00 Interior Lighting.
