Beaufort Seating System

Product Description

The Beaufort Seating System is a fixed, gravity tip-up auditorium and theatre seating system manufactured by Ferco Seating Systems (M) Sdn Bhd at its production facility in Shah Alam, Malaysia. The system is designed for use in auditoriums, theatres, lecture halls, cinemas, training facilities and other public spaces. The Beaufort seating system is available in different dimensional and configuration options, including upholstered surfaces and optional accessories, depending on the selected product configuration.

The Beaufort (Standard) seating system incorporates a lateral metal leg frame and a fixed, upholstered backrest with an ergonomic curvature. The backrest comprises a 13 mm plywood panel covered with high-resilience foam with a density of 45 kg/m³ and an upholstered outer covering. The seat pan has a rectangular geometry with a concave profile and incorporates a 21 mm tubular steel frame with metal strap attachments, integrated within high-resilience foam with a density of 60 kg/m³. The seat is fully upholstered and provided with a removable zippered cover.

The Beaufort product range may be configured with different dimensions and seating arrangements. For the purpose of this Life Cycle Assessment, the Beaufort single-seat configuration was selected as the reference product and declared unit. The specific configuration assessed in the LCA has the following characteristics:

The declared unit is one fully assembled single Beaufort seat, with a product mass of 26.08 kg excluding delivery packaging. Delivery packaging associated with the declared unit has a mass of 2.29 kg.

For the purpose of the LCA, the assessed single-seat configuration includes the structural frame, seat pan, backrest, upholstery and other components included in the approved bill of materials. The assessment represents the specific configuration and dimensions stated above and does not represent linked-seat configurations or optional components that are not included in the assessed bill of materials.
