GYPFRAME® METAL PROFILES

This Environmental Product Declaration (EPD®) describes the environmental impacts of 1 kg of GypFrame® Metal Profiles throughout its life cycle.

The scope of this EPD includes GypFrame® C-Stud, GypFrame® U-Track, and GypFrame® SL35Z (hereafter referred to as GypFrame® Metal Profiles), all of which are produced at the Saint-Gobain Malaysia production site in Port Klang, Selangor, Malaysia.

GypFrame® Metal Profiles are made of high-performance steel that undergoes stringent quality checks and controls to ensure correct and consistent base material for further profiling. The metal components are manufactured through a cold rolled pre-forming process that locally work-hardens the base material and provides great strength to the false ceiling and drywall systems.

GypFrame® C-Stud is designed for vertical support in wall framing. Its flanges allow boards to be fixed with fasteners. It is used in conjunction with Gyproc plasterboards to form internal walls, linings and encasements.

GypFrame® U-Track is designed to secure C-studs at floor and ceiling junctions. It provides a friction fit for the studs and acts as a slip joint to allow for structural movement. 

GypFrame® SL35Z is a ceiling furring channel used to create a flat, rigid surface for fixing Gyproc plasterboards in internal concealed ceiling systems.

The GypFrame® C-Stud with a thickness of 0.55mm has been selected as the representative product for this EPD, as it accounts for the highest share of production volume within the declared range.
