Fjärrkyla Centrum Västerås
Mälarenergi supplies industries and essential societal functions with process and comfort cooling. To produce district cooling, water from Lake Mälaren is used. In the winter, the water is cold enough that no additional cooling is needed. During the summer season, the water in Mälaren becomes too warm to use without additional cooling. Therefore, resource-efficient chillers and absorption chillers, using residual heat from district heating, are used to ensure that customers can receive sufficient district cooling.
