Amp5 EV Charging system
Amp5 is a EV-charging system for large scale installations of AC charging infrastructure.
Amp5 is a modular electric vehicle charging system developed by AmpSociety, designed for scalable and efficient charging of electric vehicles. The system is based on a distributed architecture where multiple charging points can be connected to a central power and control unit, enabling flexible installation and optimized use of available electrical capacity.
The charging system is intended for private and semi-public applications such as residential buildings, workplaces, and parking facilities. It operates with alternating current (AC) and supports controlled charging through integrated power management, load balancing, and communication functions. The product includes charging modules, housings, connectors or cables, control electronics, and protection components necessary for safe and reliable operation.
There are 5 different components that in various configurations can create several different types of products. These components are:
1. Smarthub – one unit per system regardless configuration. Mainly a steel/aluminium “box” with several electronic components inside, such as circuit breakers, contactors, switches, and current breakers. Also the “bar” on top of the smarthub is included.
2. ChargePod 2 – includes the sockets, display, main wiring boards, wiring, and aluminium cover
3. ConnectBar – The aluminium bar and its internal wiring between the ChargePods
4. Pole Bracket set – aluminium pole and steel “feet”
5. ConnectBar End Module – short aluminium “bar” where the wiring ends.
