Gutmann PVB
Polyvinyl butyral (PVB) is a versatile thermoplastic that is clear, colorless, and tough. It is produced by a condensation reaction of polyvinyl alcohol and butyraldehyde. The resulting resin is known for its outstanding flexibility, adhesion, and water-resistant properties, as well as its resistance to UV radiation. Once cast, PVB forms a soft sheet that can range in thickness from 0.38mm to 1.52mm or 2.28mm. When bonded to glass, it creates a strong and durable safety glass laminate that is ideal for protecting people and property from both natural and man-made threats.
At Gutmann PVB, we supply a diverse range of PVB products for both interior and exterior use. Our product holds glass fragments in place, eliminating the risk of injury from flying shards and maintaining the form and integrity of the building or structure envelope.
Properties and Characteristics:
Gutmann PVB interlayers offer exceptional adhesive properties and demonstrate superior resistance to thermal and water damage. Our product strength, durability, and high level of transparency make Gutmann PVB suitable for a range of industries, including automotive, construction, and security.
