Walki®Active
This LCA covers the humidity-dependent vapour control layers (VCL) manufactured by Walki Group Oy factory in Duffel, Belgium. The humidity-dependent vapour control layers are designed to have variable diffusion resistance dependent on the surrounding relative humidity. The function of humidity-dependent vapour control layers is expressed with the help of the humidity-dependent water vapour diffusion-equivalent air-layer-thickness (sd-value) of humidity-dependent vapour control layers.
The vapour control layers are used to increase the insulation capacity and enable faster dehydration. A well-functioning vapour control layer protects the property and significantly extends the life of the structure and allows you to economize energy efficiently and at the same time increase thermal insulation as it limits the amount of convection in the underlying insulation but still could dry out in both directions. The vapour control layers are made of a cloth of polypropylene (PP) and special polymer coating that is sensitive to humidity that is heat resistant.
This EPD is of multiple products, based on a representative product.
Walki®Active has been chosen as the representative product analysed in this EPD as it is most sold product configuration of this product family.
