Trimetallic half bearing
The trimetallic bearing shell is composed of three distinct layers of metals and alloys, designed to withstand high loads and high rotational speeds in compressors, turbines, and other industrial applications. The production process involves metallurgically bonding three metal layers, starting with a steel ring onto which the copper alloy is fi rst fused. After successful NDT testing, a second fusion of the tin-based alloy is applied, which is then subjected to repeated NDT testing before proceeding with the various CNC machining processes.
