CERTIFIED HARDWOOD RAILWAY SLEEPERS & CROSSINGS
The product comprises sawn beams of Angelim Vermelho (Dinizia excelsa) timber for railway sleepers. Calculations have been performed for nominal sizes of 2.6 m x 0.25 m x 0.13 m (0.0845 m3 = 102 kg @ 20% MC), but these LCA data can be applied to other lengths. The wood is not treated prior to use. The average density of the timber is 1211 kg/m3 @ 20% moisture content. Angelim Vermelho is well regarded for its exceptional strength, durability, and resistance to decay, which makes it suitable for very demanding applications.
