TEPLO-BFL and TEPLO-BFCT Wall Ties
Teplo BFCT and Teplo BFL wall ties are high-performance composite ties designed to provide structural stability, thermal efficiency, and long-term durability in masonry cavity wall construction.
Teplo BFCT (Basalt Fibre Channel Ties) are developed for use with proprietary steel anchor channel systems, suitable for both new-built and retrofit applications with cavity widths up to 359 mm. Each tie consists of a basalt fibre composite rod with a stainless-steel crimped end that interlocks with steel channels (such as Ancon 28/15, 25/14, and 21/18), and a moulded polymer end that is embedded into the outer masonry leaf. This design provides high tensile and compressive strength, excellent thermal performance, and effective moisture resistance. The ties are compatible with various mortar types, including M2, M12, and hydraulic lime mortars.
Teplo BFL (Basalt Fibre L-shape Wall Ties) are designed to tie masonry outer leaves to inner structures made of timber, concrete, OSB, steel, or in-situ masonry. With an L-shaped stainless steel fixing end and a polymer embedment end, these ties are suitable for cavity widths up to 400 mm. They are ideal for applications where direct mechanical fixing to the inner leaf is required. The basalt fibre core offers a low thermal conductivity (0.71 W/m·K), minimizing thermal bridging, while the integrated drip feature prevents water transmission across the cavity. Both BFCT and BFL ties meet the performance requirements of PD 6697:2019 for tie types 1 to 4, are suitable for multi-storey buildings, and provide a fire resistance rating of up to 120 minutes. With a certified service life exceeding 60 years, they offer a durable and sustainable alternative to conventional metal wall ties.
