Silekol® 231 - urea-formaldehyde resin for glass veil
Urea-formaldehyde resins are obtained by reacting urea with formaldehyde in a variable pH environment in the presence of reaction catalysts based on alkali metal hydroxides, amines, ammonia, and inorganic acid. Resin production is a multi-stage process with a variable temperature-time profile, variable molar ratio, and different pH values at each stage of production. The product obtained is subjected to a process of distillation to remove excess water, is curable at elevated temperatures with the addition of a polycondensation catalyst, and is used in the production of glass veil.
