Formaldehyde-phenol resin for mineral wool (type Resil 2XXX without urea)
Phenol-formaldehyde resins obtained in the reaction of phenol with formaldehyde in an alkaline environment. The production of resins is a multi-stage process with a variable temperature-time profile and different molar ratios of substrates and catalyst. Alkali metal hydroxides and tertiary aliphatic amines are most commonly used as catalysts. The resulting product is thermosetting, highly soluble in water and has low viscosity. It is mainly used as a binder in the production of insulating materials (glass wool, mineral wool). Product intended for professional use only.
