Ownership and limitation on use of EPD
Limitations
EPDs within the same product category but registered in different EPD programmes may not be comparable. For two EPDs to be comparable, they shall be based on the same PCR (including the same version number up to the first two digits) or be based on fully-aligned PCRs or versions of PCRs; cover products with identical functions, technical performances and use (e.g. identical declared/functional units); have equivalent system boundaries and descriptions of data; apply equivalent data quality requirements, methods of data collection, and allocation methods; apply identical cut-off rules and impact assessment methods (including the same version of characterisation factors); have equivalent content declarations; and be valid at the time of comparison.
Ownership
The EPD Owner has the sole ownership, liability, and responsibility for the EPD.

Product information
| Product name | Groppalli GL80 sliding window system |
|---|---|
| Product identification | GL80 double-glazed sliding window |
| Product description | The products under study are composed of: - aluminium extruded profiles; - polyamide bars; - aluminium glazing beads; - plastic hole cover cap; - EPDM gaskets; - Zama metallized alloy fittings; - die-cast aluminium brackets; - Zama metallized alloy handle; - glass (composition glass sheets different double insulation); - polyethylene underglass insulation; - steel screws; - plastic drainage template. |
| Technical purpose of product | The sliding window system studied is a window consisting of a frame and a sliding sash and belongs to the GL80 line. The frame is assembled from coated aluminium profiles with thermal break made by a reinforced polyamide strip placed between the aluminium profiles. The leaves and frames are assembled by fittings. To guarantee air and water tightness of the window, EPDM gaskets and other plastic sealing materials are installed. |
| Manufacturing or service provision description | Production of the sliding window system is carried out at the GROPPALLI production site, where the stages of warehousing, knurling to increase the roughness of the profiles, coupling the aluminium profiles with the polyamide bars, cutting and drilling the aluminium profiles, assembling and mounting the window, and, finally, packaging are carried out. |

Description of the process flow diagram(s)
The diagram illustrates the main production stages of the aluminium sliding windows produced by Groppalli Srl. The process begins with the supply of raw materials, including aluminium profiles and polyamide bars, followed by mechanical and manual operations such as knurling, coupling, drilling and cutting. The cut profiles are then assembled with brackets to form the sash and frame. The next steps include the installation of the fittings and glass components. After assembled, the sliding windows are packed and ready for distribution.

Scrap inputs to the production stage are subtracted from scrap to be recycled at the end of life with the aim to obtain the net scrap output from the product system. This principle is applied for metals, plastics and glass. |

Additional environmental information
The recycled content in the product, according to this PCR, excludes pre-consumer scrap. According to ISO 14021:2016, the average recycled content, which includes pre- and post-consumer recycled scrap in the product, is not below 15%. This percentage was obtained by adopting the mass balance method. In fact, it takes into account the average recycled content of aluminium (62%) and the average recycled content of plastics and rubber (44%).
