Icopal Radon/SokkeliPolar

The products included in this EPD are used as a complementary part in waterproofing systems from BMI, marketed under the brand Icopal, made for roofs and for foundations. The products are used for waterproofing, sealing and for various separation joints. The relative share of the products in the materials used in a whole building is small and the products' applications are often hidden under other building components or soil. 

The products are made from SBS-modified bitumen. SBS increases the elasticity of the membrane and provides increased joint strength and service life. In some applications, the products may not be welded or glued at all. When used for waterproofing purposes, the products are generally fully torched, and when used as radon seals, the strips are partially torched to the sole/base. In this EPD it has been assumed that the product is fully torched. 

The declared product is expected to fulfil its function for 50 years.
