Containerized Diesel Generator Set mtu 10V1600 DS500

The mtu 10V1600 DS500 genset, manufactured by Rolls-Royce, is providing an independent power supply solution for various energy requirements. It ensures reliable power supply in the event of a grid failure – in hospitals, data centres, airports, healthcare, wastewater treatment plants, industrial manufacturing plants, residential buildings, public facilities, decentralized power stations, microgrids, and hybrid power plants. In case of an emergency, the mtu 10V1600 DS500 genset provides its full electrical power within a few seconds – synchronized to the grid, to another power source or to other gensets in parallel. They can accept extremely high load steps without having significant frequency and voltage deviations and sacrificing the power quality.

A special feature of mtu 10V1600 DS500 genset is that it can be operated with bio-based fuel, more precisely with hydrotreated vegetable oil (HVO), instead of conventional diesel. This aims to reduce emissions during the use phase. As drop-in fuel, there are no adaptations needed to the diesel genset hardware and software. The fuel can generally be blended with fossil diesel in all proportions or pure.
