The EPD covers multiple rigid pipe systems. It is based on the representative product PREMANT UNO (DN100, insulation thickness 2) with a weight of 14.56 kg/m of pipe plus packaging. It is the most sold variant among the group of rigid pipe systems. A list of all included products can be found in Annex A of the EPD.
PREMANT is the protected name for a pre-insulated plastic casing pipe system for transporting district heating in accordance with EN 253 and EN 13941. It is a pipe system for ductless, direct burial.
PREMANT UNO has one steel medium pipe, welded or seamless, depending on the application. Unalloyed steel with the quality P235 GH (1.0345) according to EN 10220 and EN 10217-2 is used. Two monitoring wires with the specification CrNi, red insulated and perforated, and Cu, green insulated are attached to the steel medium pipe. Their task is to identify and locate moisture by means of resistance of pulse measurements. Thermal insulation is ensured by a layer of rigid polyurethane (PUR) foam in accordance with EN 489. The thermal conductivity λ is ≤ 0.026 W/mK. External protection is provided by a polyethylene high-density (PE-HD) casing pipe according to EN 253. All three components form a solid unit. It is constantly observed for moisture using the integrated monitoring wires. The standard lengths are 6, 12 or 16 m per pipe.
PREMANT DUO is characterized by two medium pipes made of unalloyed steel with the quality P235 GH (1.0345) according to EN 10220 and EN 10217-2 instead of one. Thermal insulation is ensured by a layer of rigid PUR foam in accordance with EN 489. The thermal conductivity λ is ≤ 0.026 W/mK. External protection is provided by a PE-HD casing pipe according to EN 253. It is constantly observed for moisture using the integrated monitoring wires. The standard lengths are 6, 12 or 16 m per pipe.
COOLMANT is the registered trade name for a rigid pipe system from BRUGG Pipes with carrier pipes made of polyethylene (PE) 100. PE 100 is a specific grade within the larger group of PE-HD. This pipe system is especially suitable for use in local and district cooling networks, in industrial settings and with restrictions also for combined heat pump systems (cooling and heating). COOLMANT consists of one PE 100 medium pipe as per standard EN 12162, a layer of rigid PUR foam and an PE 100 casing pipe. The insulation is made of fine-pore chlorofluorocarbon (CFC)-free rigid PUR foam and, together with the medium pipe, it forms a compact composite system with excellent insulation properties. The outer casing meets the requirements for plastic casing pipes as per EN 253, ensuring that the district cooling pipe is reliably protected against mechanical influences and the possibility that water could penetrate the system. The thermal conductivity λ is 0.40 W/mK for the PE 100 medium and casing pipe and ≤ 0.024 W/mK for the PUR insulation. The standard lengths are 6 or 12 m per pipe.
STAMANT safety pipe is a rigid, double-walled and approved safety pipe system with continuous leakage monitoring. STAMANT safety pipe is a double-pipe system prefabricated in units. It is ideal for transporting flammable and non-flammable water-polluting media and gases. A leakage indicator issues both a visual and an acoustic alarm in the event of a leak. It is a cooling pipe, transporting temperature-controlled, environmentally harmful, flammable, poisonous liquids and gases. STAMANT consists of a seamless or welded steel inner pipe according to EN 10220, a surveillance space, a secondary containment pipe made of seamless or welded steel outer pip according to EN 10220 and a PE corrosion proofing jacket in accordance with DIN 30670 or DIN 30671.
SPIRAMANT is a thermally insulated high-temperature pipe system with a flame-retardant folded spiral steel casing. The pre-insulated pipelines are intended for industrial applications refer to joint casing pipes and form pieces with a medium pipe made of steel, stainless steel, PE, polypropylene (PP), etc. in a fixed connection with a PUR rigid foam insulation and a casing pipe made of galvanized sheet steel, AZ 185, AIMg and stainless steel (folded spiral-seam pipe with internal or external seam according to DIN 24145). Thermal insulation is ensured by a layer of rigid PUR foam in accordance with EN 489. The thermal conductivity λ is ≤ 0.026 W/mK. Only SPIRAMANT pipes made of longitudinal or spiral welded steel pipes with the quality P235 GH (1.0345) according to EN 10220 and EN 10217-2 for transporting district heating in accordance with EN 253 are covered by this EPD. The standard lengths are 6, 12 or 16 m per pipe.
