Closed ropes are made of hot-dip galvanized high-strength steel wires. The rope consists of an inner core of round wires and one or more outer layers of Z-shaped wires. The Z-shape of the wires is such that there is mutual locking of the wires to achieve a compact section. The special shape of the Z-shaped wires gives flat contact surfaces and low contact pressures between wires. The Z-shape of the wires prevents the entry of external agents inside the wires.
