Expandable Polystyrene Beads (EPS)

Description of Styropek® products BF, BFL and P40 series for construction and packaging:

Expandable polystyrene beads containing styrene and pentane as an expanding agent. All products are marketed in the form of spheres (beads) which have an average density of approximately 650 kg/m3 (40.8 lbs/ft3).

  • Styropek® BF beads: Expandable Polystyrene (EPS) modified (fire retardant / flame retardant / self-extinguishing) containing between 5.7 % to 6.4% by weight of pentane as expanding agent. All fractions are sold in the form of beads with an approximate bulk density of 640 kg/m3 (40 lb/ft3). Are compatible with many antistatic agents, mineral oils, color pigments and other additives that may be added during the transformation process. Do not contain chlorofluorocarbon and hydrofluorocarbon compounds.
  • Styropek® BFL beads: Expandable Polystyrene (EPS) modified / fire retardant / flame retardant / self-extinguishing, containing approximately 3.45 – 3.75% by weight of pentane, as an expanding agent. All products are sold in the form of beads with an approximate apparent density of 640 kg/m3 (40 pcf). They are compatible with many antistatic agents, mineral oils, color pigments and other additives, which can be added during the transformation process. Do not contain chlorofluorocarbon and hydrofluorocarbon compounds.
  • Styropek® P40 beads: Expandable Polystyrene (EPS), contains a minimum of 5.2% and a maximum of 5.8% by weight of pentane as an expanding agent. Does not contain chlorofluorocarbon and hydrofluorocarbon compounds. They contain less than 1000 ppm residual monomer and a maximum total moisture of 0.5% by weight. All fractions have an approximate apparent density of 670 kg/m3 (42 lbs/ft3). Are compatible with many antistatic agents, color pigments and other additives that may be added during the transformation process.
