Grits - Spanish sector EPD
The grits are obtained as a result of grinding frits to different particle sizes depending on the desired ceramic effect and the application method, which can be either dry or wet.
They are generally applied on a ceramic surface to obtain different effects through appropriate firing. Among the factors/parameters that differentiate them, apart from the particle size distribution, the origin of the raw materials and their composition stand out. The latter has a significant influence on the physicochemical properties of the glaze in question, such as, for example, color rendering, temperatures, characteristics, coefficient of thermal expansion values, presence of porosity, etc.
Grits may consist of a single frit, or be the result of a mixture of several grits/frits; this will depend on the desired final effect/properties.
