Formica® Classic Super 1mm (Formica Asia)
To make our renowned Formica® Laminate, kraft paper, which forms the core of the material, is impregnated with thermosetting resin. The impregnated kraft paper is pressed together at high pressure and temperature with a resin impregnated “décor” paper. The décor surface not only gives the colour and aesthetic but also provides a high resistance to wear, impact, heat and staining.
Formica® Classic Super (Classic S) HPL laminates are made up of decorative surface layer on one side of the panel bonded together to the core layers by a high pressure process and the other side sanded.
Typical values for the high pressure process are a temperature of ≥ 120 °C and a pressure of ≥ 5 MPa.
The decorative layer consists either on a decor paper impregnated with thermosetting melamine resin or a dry printed decor paper with an impregnated overlay. The core layers consist of kraft paper impregnated with thermosetting phenolic resin.
