Hot-Dip Galvanized Steel Coils (GI)
Hot-dip galvanized steel coils (GI) are produced by coating the surface of hot-rolled or cold-rolled stee coils with zinc coating. This process utilizes the principle of the potential difference. between zinc and iron to provide corrosion resistance to the steel product. The zinc coating acts as sacrificial protection, corroding first to shield the underlying steel or iron. According to the potential difference principle, when two different metals come into contact, the metal with lower potential will corrode faster, while the one with higher potential will be protected.
