Ball valves are mechanical devices used to control the flow of fluids through a system of pipes. They consist of a spherical closure with a hole (the ball) that can be rotated to either allow or block the flow of fluid. When the hole is aligned with the pipe, fluid can pass through; when it's perpendicular to the pipe, the flow is blocked. They can be installed in both indoors and outdoors.
