Ferroniobium Low Emission
Niobium (Nb) is a metal that belongs to the transition metals, and when very pure, it’s soft, ductile, and highly resistant to corrosion. Niobium transforms for the better the other materials. For example: the addition of minimum levels of Ferroniobium (FeNb), in the order of 0.05%, already makes the steel mechanically more resistant, without reducing its tenacity (ability to plastically deform without suffer rupture). Thus, FeNb application lies in the production of high-strength low-alloy steels within several applications such as mobility, energy, civil construction structures, pipelines gas and electronic components. FeNb ’low emission’ is a variation based on CBMM production route with charcoal during the refining process and consuming only recycled aluminium at Metallurgy.
