Aluminium Hydroxide (Hydrated Alumina)
Aluminium Hydroxide (Al2O3·3H2O) contains mainly alumina (Al2O3), approximately 62%, and water (H2O), approximately 38%. The main impurities are iron oxide, calcium oxide, sodium oxide and silica oxide.
Aluminium Hydroxide is mainly used to produce Aluminium Oxide after the calcination process described above. It also possesses numerous other industrial applications. It can be used for water treatment, for flame-retardants, to produce Aluminium Fluoride, Aluminium Sulphates, as a zeolite etc.
