EPS Underfloor Heating Boards "ISOFLOOR & ISOFLOOR PLUS"

The products covered in this EPD are EPS Underfloor Heating Boards, marketed under the trade name “ISOFLOOR”. 

ISOFLOOR products are specialized hard-pressed boards made of high-density, moulded, expanded polystyrene. With remarkable compressive strength and exceptional thermal conductivity coefficient, these plates are specifically designed for use in underfloor heating systems, commonly referred to as underfloor heating.Products are primarily distinguished by the spacing provided for the placement of the water pipes. The spacing, i.e., the distance from the center of one pipe to the center of the next, is offered in 50mm and 75mm configurations for ISOFLOOR 50 & ISOFLOOR 75 respectively. The choice between the two configurations depends on the heating system design. The 50mm configuration, allows for a higher pipe density during application, necessary for smaller diameter pipes such as 16mm-18mm, for which ISOFLOOR 50 is intended. ISOFLOOR 75, with a 75mm spacing, is intended for piping of 18-20mm diameter.

Within each configuration further distinctions are made, based on the following features:

• Compressive Strength: Heating plates are produced in two densities of EPS, with different compressive strengths exceeding 150 and 200 kPa at 10% distortion, named EPS 150 and EPS 200, respectively.
• EPS Plate Thickness: EPS plates are offered in two thicknesses of the base layer, namely 15mm & 25mm. Above the base layer, which is the flat part of the board, follows the layer containing the slots of 25mm height. The two layers combined, result in a final height of EPS plates of 40mm and 50mm respectively.
• Vapor Barrier Covering: Options include covering or not covering with a vapor barrier, specifically a high-impact polystyrene (HIPS) layer. Options with the vapor barrier are labelled as the PLUS versions.
