Fly Ash
Eren Enerji, a subsidiary of Eren Holding, has a total installed capacity of 2,790 MW at ZETES (Zonguldak Eren Thermal Power Plant), located within the borders of Çatalağzı Town and Muslu Town in Zonguldak province. With an investment value of 200 million dollars and an annual discharge capacity of 15 million tons, Eren Port provides loading and unloading services with four berths.
Fly ash produced by Eren Energy is a by-product of electricity generation at the coal-fired power plant. In the ZETES II and ZETES III power plants on the same campus, fly ash is formed due to the combustion of coal during electricity generation, and this ash is captured by electrostatic dust filters. This captured fly ash has financial value and is sold to cement companies. Fly ash used as an additive in cement increases the strength of concrete.
The fly ash generated from Eren Enerji’s thermal power plants adheres to Class F specifications, meeting the rigorous standards outlined by TS EN 450-1 and ASTM C618. Furthermore, it exhibits superior quality characteristics, categorized as both Category A and Category N concerning ignition loss and fineness properties.
