The product covered by this EPD are the Sicilian-style dried tomatoes in oil under the Polli 1872 brand, packaged in 285g glass jars and produced using sun-dried tomatoes, softened, and rehydrated in water within the plant of Lozzo Atestino (PD), then flavored with garlic and oregano, extra virgin olive oil and a pinch of salt and sugar.
Dried tomatoes are produced in Turkey without the addition of preservatives or additives. The production process involves high-quality seeds selection, greenhouse cultivation of seedlings and subsequent planting in open field during summer.
