Softwood Timber

This industry-wide EPD covers Australian-produced sawn, kiln-dried softwood timber products. Plantation forestry and the processing of softwood sawlogs into sawn timber products is undertaken at numerous sites around Australia.

The declared unit is 1 cubic metre of softwood timber. The scope is ‘cradle-to-gate’ with options. The production stage includes plantation forestry, log haulage, processing, kiln-drying, planing and packaging. 

This EPD is the second update, the original released in June 2015 and the first update released in December 2017.

The document complies with the requirements for an industry-wide EPD under the Green Building Council of Australia’s Green Star rating system and the Infrastructure Sustainability (IS) rating scheme of the Infrastructure Sustainability Council.
