Reinforced APP (atactic polypropylene) plastomer-modified bitumen waterproofing membranes
Reinforced APP (atactic polypropylene) plastomeric polymer-modified bitumen flexible sheets for roof waterproofing, also referred to as Bitumen-Polymer-Plastomer (BPP) membranes. They consist of a dimensionally stable non-woven polyester carrier — in some grades a fibreglass mat or a composite of polyester and fibreglass — saturated and coated with a distilled-bitumen compound whose plastomeric modification is provided by recycled post-consumer polypropylene, filled with ground limestone, plasticised with re-refined naphthenic process oil, and surfaced with a thermofusible polyolefin film on the underside and silica sand, plain film or mineral slate on the upper face. The plastomeric modification gives a high softening point and ultraviolet resistance suited to the hot, high-insolation climate of the Gulf region, while the recycled polypropylene contributes to the declared recycled content. Products are CE-marked to the EN 13707 family
