HDPE sheathed stay cable strand - Bekaert Hlohovec a.s.

Galvanized & waxed & HDPE sheathed stay cable strand is used as tension member for cable stay structures (mainly bridges). Standard diameter of stay cable is 15.7mm + HDPE sheathing. The strands are protected by three layers of corrosion protective coatings:

- Metallic coating

Standard zinc coating provides primary corrosion barrier and corrosion protection can be enhanced with our Bezinal®3000 (95%Zn, 5%Al) metallic coating.

- Wax

A premium, water-resistant, mechanically stable wax layer improves corrosion protection in all conditions.

- HDPE sheathing

A pure polyethylene sheath (1.5 mm standard, custom available) forms a durable barrier against mechanical and environmental stress.
