Ownership and limitation on use of EPD
Limitations
EPDs within the same product category but published in different EPD programmes, may not be comparable. For two EPDs to be comparable, they shall be based on the same PCR (including the same first-digit version number) or be based on fully aligned PCRs or versions of PCRs; cover products with identical functions, technical performances and use (e.g. identical declared/functional units); have identical scope in terms of included life-cycle stages (unless the excluded life-cycle stage is demonstrated to be insignificant); apply identical impact assessment methods (including the same version of characterisation factors); and be valid at the time of comparison.
Ownership
The EPD Owner has the sole ownership, liability, and responsibility for the EPD.

| Technology description including background system | Duratec LC is a three-layer PVC pipe manufactured by multilayer co-extrusion. All background processes were modelled using ecoinvent v3.11 (cut-off). Post-consumer recycled PVC is modelled according to the cut-off approach, whereby upstream burdens from previous life cycles are excluded and recycling impacts are included. Internal process scrap is recycled within production and does not leave the product system boundary. |
| Scrap (recycled material) inputs contribution level | Less than 10% of the GWP-GHG results in modules A1-A3 come from scrap inputs |
Data quality assessment
| Description of data quality assessment and reference years | The data quality assessment identified no poor or very poor datasets among those contributing at least 80% of the environmental impact results, assessed in line according to EN 15804+A2 Annex E Table E2 and EN 15941. Overall data quality is evaluated as good for geographical and technological representativeness and very good for temporal representativeness, with reference year 2024. |

Description of the process flow diagram(s)
The raw materials (PVC, post-consumer recycled PVC, calcium-carbonate filler and additives) are transported to the Wavin Bogotá production facility in Colombia, where the pipe is manufactured through compounding and three-layer co-extrusion, with a core containing at least 20% recycled PVC. Internal production scrap is recycled back into the process, and the pipe is calibrated, cooled, cut to length and socketed for distribution. Module A4 and modules B1–B7 are not declared. At end of life, the product is directed to 100% sanitary landfill (C1–C4), with the net loss of secondary PVC leaving the system reported as a burden in module D.

Module C: End-of-life
| Explanatory name of the default scenario in module C | End-of-life Scenario |
|---|---|
| Brief description of the default scenario in module C | Includes Deconstruction, transport to waste treatment & Landfill |
| Description of the default scenario in module C | These lifecycle stages include deconstruction of the pipe system, transport of the waste to the disposal site, and final disposal in a sanitary landfill. No recycling or energy recovery of the main product materials is considered. The End-of-life scenario assumes 100% of the product mass is directed to sanitary landfill reflecting the prevailing waste-treatment practice in Colombia. Deconstruction (C1) and waste processing (C3) are declared with zero impact, while transport to the landfill (C2) is modelled over approximately 80 km by road and final disposal (C4) covers landfilling of the full product mass. |
| Module C information | Value | Unit |
|---|---|---|
| Total waste to landfill | 20.46 | kg |
| Distance to Landfill | 80 | km |
Module D: Beyond product life cycle
| Explanatory name of the default scenario in module D | Module D |
|---|---|
| Brief description of the default scenario in module D | There are no benefits once the product has been sent to landfill |
| Description of the default scenario in module D | In module D, the post-consumer recycled PVC that entered the product as a secondary input is not recovered at end of life; this net loss of secondary material is therefore reported as an environmental burden (positive values), and no reuse, recovery or energy-recovery benefits are credited. |

| Disclaimer 1 | The GWP-GHG indicator is termed GWP-IOBC/GHG in the ILCD+EPD+ data format. The indicator accounts for all greenhouse gases except biogenic carbon dioxide uptake and emissions and biogenic carbon stored in the product. As such, the indicator is identical to GWP-total except that the CF for biogenic CO2 is set to zero. | ||||||||||||||||
