Webertherm CERAMIC System
The Webertherm Ceramic System is an External Thermal Insulation Composite System (ETICS) for façade applications, compliant with EN 15804+A2:2019 and the Construction Products Regulation (CPR). It holds European Technical Assessment ETA 17/0236 and DAU 17/107A.
This Environmental Product Declaration (EPD) represents the Optima finish with EPS insulation boards of 100 mm thickness, which is the most common configuration within the Webertherm Ceramic range. The insulation layer consists of webertherm placa EPS, a stabilized expanded polystyrene board with thermal conductivity λ = 0,037 W/m·K.
Alternatively, the system can use webertherm aislone, a thermo-acoustic insulating mortar (λ = 0.042 W/m·K). EPS and aislone are never combined in the same application; they are alternative solutions for the insulation layer.
The Webertherm Ceramic System offers two finish options:
• Optima: based on webercol FLEX2 MULTIRAPID adhesive, recommended for standard ceramic formats.
• Plus: based on webercol FLEX3 SUPERRAPID adhesive, recommended for large-format ceramic pieces.
Installation steps for the EPS configuration:
1. Insulation layer:
Supply and application of webertherm placa EPS insulation boards (reference thickness: 100 mm), installed horizontally in successive rows with staggered joints. Boards are adhered using webertherm base adhesive mortar, applied either by perimeter bead and central dabs or by full surface troweling, ensuring a minimum adhesion surface of 40%.
2. Mechanical fixing:
Anchoring with webertherm espiga (steel/plastic), minimum 6 fixings/m², reinforced in wind-exposed areas.
3. Surface reinforcement:
• For Optima: webertherm malla 320, an alkali-resistant fiberglass mesh (6.0 × 6.0 mm opening, 330 g/m² weight), embedded between two layers of webertherm base mortar (2–3 mm each).
• For Plus: webertherm malla 160, an alkali-resistant fiberglass mesh (3.5 × 3.8 mm opening, 131 g/m² weight), embedded between two layers of webertherm base mortar (2–3 mm each). For systems requiring additional reinforcement, an extra layer of malla 160 and base mortar (2–3 mm each) may be added, secured with webertherm espiga (1 fixing/m²).
4. Final finish:
Ceramic cladding bonded using the corresponding adhesive (FLEX2 for Optima or FLEX3 for Plus), applied by double-buttering technique, and grouted with webercolor premium ocean
Alternative configuration (aislone-based):
Instead of EPS boards, webertherm aislone thermo-insulating mortar can be applied directly on the prepared substrate in successive layers to achieve the specified thickness (typically 40–80 mm; consult technical department for greater thicknesses). No mechanical anchors are required. The reinforcement and finish steps remain the same as above.
