Hollow lightweight precast concrete products

Masonry blocks (UNE-EN 771-3 & UNE 127771-3): Precast concrete piece with a significantly orthohedral shape, with a length/width ratio of less than 6, height/length of less than 1 and without any reinforcement. It is mainly used for the construction of building walls, fences, earth retaining walls, etc. Two types of concrete blocks can be distinguished referring to the types of aggregates used that will determine their final density: dense aggregate blocks and light aggregate blocks. The number of blocks on the market is practically unlimited, with each manufacturer having a specific range in which it plays with dimensions, shapes, finishes or performance.

Masonry bricks (UNE-EN 771-3 & UNE 127771-3): Bricks are usually lower in height than blocks (7 - 10 cm) and can be hollow or solid. They are mainly used as exterior cladding of building walls.

Blocks for beam-and-block floor systems (UNE-EN 15037-2): Hollow mass concrete element, of semi-dry consistency, which rests on the lower flanges of the slab beams, transmitting the loads to them. The dimensions of the block will determine the final edge of the slab and the distance between axes.

Blocks for waffle-slab : It is the basic element for the construction of waffle or bidirectional slabs. Its main function is to lighten the weight of the slab. They are generally made of lightweight concrete. Its geometry is that of a hollow cube without the lower face.

Other hollow lightweight elements: Any other hollow lightweight precast concrete element, which does not fall within the above definitions.
