THRACE Polypropylene Staple Fibers (various colors)
Polypropylene staple fibers are synthetic polymer fibers produced from polypropylene resin, color masterbatch and spin finish oil through extrusion, spin-finish application, crimping, cutting, baling or pressing, and related fiber-forming processes. The product covered by this EPD consists of Thrace Polypropylene Staple Fibers in various colors, including colored and black fibers, manufactured at Thrace Nonwovens & Geosynthetics S.A., Magiko, Xanthi, Greece.
The fibers are intermediate materials intended for downstream conversion into nonwoven fabrics, especially needle-punched nonwoven geotextiles and other construction-related nonwoven products. They are designed to provide suitable opening, carding and processing behavior during downstream nonwoven manufacturing. The fibers are lightweight, chemically resistant and based on fossil-derived polypropylene.
The declared results represent 1 kg of polypropylene staple fibers without packaging. Product-specific technical performance, dimensions, color, application suitability and downstream use shall be assessed using the relevant product datasheets, customer specifications and applicable standards for the final nonwoven or construction product.
