Glass Fibre Reinforced Plastic (GFRP / GRP)
Glass Fibre Reinforced Plastic (GFRP/ GRP) is a composite material made from a
polymer resin matrix, typically polyester or epoxy, reinforced with glass fibres. It is manufactured through
processes such as hand lay-up, spray-up, pultrusion, and resin transfer moulding. GRP is widely used
in construction, automotive, marine, and industrial applications due to its high strength, lightweight
properties, corrosion resistance, and design versatility.
This EPD considers the manufacturing of the product across two sites:
• Fibrex Industries LLC - MW5-Plot No 6-9, Mussaffah, Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates.
• Fibrex Industries LLC - Branch 1. ICAD III (34NR27), Mussaffah, Abu Dhabi, United Arab
Emirates.
The results of this study report the representative case in line with the IES PCR 2.2.2.1. The
representative product was elected based on annual production volume. The A1-A3 GWP-GHG
variance between the two sites for the studied 12 months is –0.7%
