Mild Steel-01(DC01)
DC01 is a non-coated aluminum-killed steel for automotive applications, manufactured through processes including hot rolling, pickling, cold rolling, and annealing. Its excellent cold formability and stable mechanical properties make it widely applicable for automotive non-structural and exterior components, such as:
1. Door inner panels
2. Roof panels
3. Fuel tank housings
4. Instrument panel brackets
5. Chassis guards
6. Interior brackets
DC01 has good deep drawability and forming efficiency, with typical tensile strength of 270–410 MPa, yield strength of 140–280 MPa, and elongation of 28%–40%, achieving a balance between lightweight design, cost-effectiveness, and fundamental strength.
Key advantages include:
• Superior Cold Formability: Aluminum-killed treatment enhances steel purity and grain uniformity, enabling complex stamping processes (e.g., deep drawing, flanging) while minimizing cracking risks.
• High Surface Quality: The non-coated design combined with annealing provides a smooth, clean surface, suitable for internal parts with low aesthetic requirements or pre-painted components without additional treatment.
• Cost Efficiency: Simplified production processes (no coating or post-treatment) reduce material and processing costs compared to high-strength or coated steels, making it ideal for mass production.
• Excellent Weldability: Low carbon content (C ≤ 0.12%) and low yield strength allow compatibility with resistance welding, laser welding, and other techniques, ensuring seamless integration into automated automotive production lines.
• Dimensional Stability: Low residual stress after annealing minimizes springback, reducing calibration efforts and improving component assembly accuracy.
