Aluminium Billets
The AA6063 Aluminum Billet is a high-quality, semi-finished product specifically engineered for the aluminum extrusion process. Produced through an advanced Twin Chamber Melting Furnace, the AA6063 billets undergo a precise casting method that begins with the melting of pre-sorted aluminum scrap at temperatures exceeding 750°C. Molten aluminum is poured into a tundish and then flows through copper molds with direct water spray chilling, ensuring uniform solidification and a smooth surface finish.
Following the casting stage, each billet is cut to a standard length of 5.8 meters, after which it is carefully inspected to meet quality standards. The billets are then placed into a homogenization furnace, where they are heated to 500°C for 12 to 14 hours. This controlled heating process achieves a refined, homogeneous grain structure essential for extrusion performance.
Once homogenized, the billets are rapidly cooled through a water mist cooling system, increasing their density and ensuring optimal mechanical properties for extrusion. AA6063 billets from GUTMANN INTERNATIONAL METAL INDUSTRIES LLC are known for their excellent surface finish, durability, and suitability for architectural and structural applications, meeting the highest quality standards in the aluminum industry.
