Environmental Product Declaration Shell Transformer (387 MVA)
A Generator Step-Up Transformer (GSU) is a transformer connected to a generator with the purpose of increasing the voltage of the generated power to a suitable transmission level. As they are a critical link between the power plant and the transmission network, they are usually operated day and night at close to full load. There are two technologies of transformers produced: shell type and core type. This study is focusing on the shell type, where the primary and secondary winding are placed on one leg and are surrounded by the core.
