Original Ceramic Tile

Ceramic tiles are primarily made up of clays, silica and other additives and then molded into shape followed by firing into a kiln. Ceramic tiles can be glazed or unglazed. There are several advantages to ceramic tiles. They are fire resistant, non-combustible, durable and extremely easy to maintain.

Our handmade Original Ceramic tile is available in over 100 standard colors in a range of glossy and matte finishes, each created in our in-house Innovation Lab and hand-mixed using all-natural, 100% lead-free ingredients. Variations due to product size and color have no impact on the LCA methodology results. All products within the family have the same thickness so this LCA study does not account for a range of results.

Not all requirements in the GPI are fulfilled, particularly the requirement, for construction products, to follow EN 15804 for certain aspects of the LCA method. This EPD is based on a PCR that satisfies procurement rules at the federal, state, and municipal levels which call for EPDs based on the UL Part B PCR. The ULPart B PCR was used to meet regulatory (example: Buy Clean California Act, etc.) and market expectations (example: Building Transparency EC3 comparisons, LEED and existing vendor procurement requirements, product scoring programs, etc.). The EPD should not be used outside of this context.
