S-P-02307 Precast concrete ring

This document serves as Product Category Rules (PCR) for Construction products. It aims to be the main way to develop and register EPDs in the International EPD System, compliant with the European standard EN 15804:2012+A2:2019/AC:2021 (Sustainability of construction works - Environmental product declarations - Core rules for the product category of construction products).
This PCR allows for an EPD to be produced either:
<ul>
<li>directly using this PCR, or</li>
<li>using this PCR document together with a c-PCR.</li>
</ul>

The PCR and the c-PCRs may be downloaded in the EPD Portal. It is free to register in the EPD Portal.

Construction products (EN 15804:A2)

Version 1.2 of this PCR was published 2022-06-22. Later this has been updated with editorial changes; the most recent version is 1.2.5.
Most importantly, version 1.2 version complies with version 4 of the GPI. See Section 8 in the PCR for a list of changes compared to version 1.11 of the PCR.
Version 1.11 is still valid, in parallell to version 1.2.X, during transition period ending 2023-08-01.
Previously, the sunset dates for version 1.11 have been 2022-12-31 and 2023-03-31, but its validity has been extended to allow the market time to finalise EPD projects based on version 1.11, adjust to the changes implemented as of version 1.2, and due to unforeseen technical challenges. This EPD presents a cradle-to-gate declaration of the environmental performance of 1 m3 of “Precast concrete ring” used for the lining of the Exploratory Tunnel CE of the Brenner Base Tunnel (CE ring). It covers the production of raw materials, their transport, the production phase of semi-finished products, components and segments.&nbsp;

Each CE ring is made up of:&nbsp;

<ul>
	<li>6 prefabricated segments (5 + 1 keystone), equipped with gaskets for hydraulic sealing, guide bars for correct positioning and inserts for the mounting process;</li>
	<li>2 prefabricated segments used as a support base for the realization of the final plan (base segment 1 and base segment 2).&nbsp;</li>
</ul>
